Friday Night Sew In Results & Bees In the Wrong Place Again!

Below is my Friday Night Sew In results.  This is the applique flower that I did in Harriet Hargrave's class.  I used YLI invisible thread.  There is a shine to this thread, which is alright with this small wall hanging, but there are times when I want invisible thread to just blend in.
In the near future if everything goes as planned, Harriet will be carrying a nylon thread that doesn't shine.
It also blends in with the colors of your quilt and best of all it wears and washes really well.
I think I'm willing to try invisible out again on a big quilt and see what happens.
Many years ago I quilted with invisible thread, but didn't like the plastic look to the thread.
After seeing Harriet's quilts in person, I'm going to give it a try.

Last year in July we had problems with bees trying to make a nest in our house.  Well--they're back!
I like bees outside doing bee things, but not in my house.  Hopefully we will get the problem solved in the next few days.

Fall is just around the corner in my corner of the world!

Happy Quilting!

Kay, that is a lovely wall hanging! The 'feathers' in the quilting just make that flower stand out beautifully!

Is the 3-tier cake for a wedding? I've forgotten if you said you were going to bake a cake for one. Pretty!

Beautiful freemotion quilting! Love your applique flower. I like to use Bottom Line thread from Superior as it is very fine.
