International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati 2013

Last weekend was an exciting because I had the pleasure of spending time with my Mom and Aunt at the International Quilt Festival at Cincinnati, Ohio.  I wish I had the time to post about every quilt that caught my eye, but I don't have that kind of time so I picked out a few of my favorites.
ElaTED made by Ted Storm is a beautiful applique quilt that used brown plaid.
My pictures of this quilt do not even come close to seeing it in person.

Cherry Blossoms by Noriko Endo is machine quilted and embroidered.
This quilt stood out to me because of how realistic the cherry blossoms look.

Hula Hibiscus was designed and made by Lisa Calle.
Lisa has a video on You tube on how her quilt progressed from beginning to end.

Every time I walked by Lisa's quilt I found myself stopping and admiring her work.
All during the show there was always a crowd of admirers by her quilt.

If you want to learn how Lisa designs her beautiful quilting, you can take a class from her or buy her
She not only does beautiful work, but she is also a wonderful teacher!
Thank you, Lisa, for being such an inspiration to the quilt world!

This quilt has beautiful applique and cheery colors that make you want to smile!
The name of the quilt even makes you smile:
Never Again....Never by Joan Dorsay.

She told herself that she would stop at one, but she can't stop.

Ms. MacDonald Had a Farm by
Lynn Czaban and members of the Hanging By A Thread Group

This quilt caught my eye because we farm, but also the use of color values in the animal appliques.

The color values make the animals look like they're going to walk off the quilt.

We had a lot of fun and feel blessed by having the opportunity to enjoy such wonderful pieces of art.

Happy Quilting!

Kay Lynne
