A New Quilt Display, New Books, and NQA Columbus Quilt Show

I have had these old cabinet doors for 29 years and never done anything with them.  They were painted and looked pretty ugly when I first seen them.  The doors sure look different when they're stripped and refinished!
I added some hinges and now I have a new place to hang quilts!

I bought some new books at the NQA Quilt  show last week in Columbus, Ohio.  Since I've been thread doodling, zentangles have caught my eye.  Is my thread doodling zentangles?  I don't know, but these books look like a lot of fun!

I also met the most interesting gentleman, Dustin Farrell, at the quilt show.  Dusty is a long arm quilting artist and his feathers are absolutely amazing!  His front cover of his book caught my eye and I just had to buy my very own copy!  Dusty's feathers captured my heart because they are so close to what I draw.  Thank you, Dustin, for signing my book and for such an inspiring feather book!

Below is an amazing quilt called "The Loading Dock" by Mary S. Buvia, from Greenwood, Indiana.
Mary did a beautiful job on this quilt--it is certainly "eye candy" for everyone!

Em, Mom, and I had a great time in Columbus!
I am looking forward to going again next year.

Happy Quilting!

Oh you lucky "dog" to get to see those AMAZING quilts! That "Loading Dock" one is truly a work of art! I wonder how long it took her to complete it?!

I'm curious about the Zentangles too. The feathers would make a lovely feature for a quilt too.

Thank you for the interesting blog entry today, Kay! And is that you on the right in the last pic?
