A Quick Trip to Florida & Back

Last week Dean and I had a quick trip to Florida.  We drove Dean's Dad and Mom-in-law's van back from Florida.  They decided to put their Florida home on the market and they also needed some items from their home moved back to Ohio.  So we met Dean's sister and brother-in-law and had the house cleared out in one day!  It was a long day when you're up at 3:00 a.m. in the morning to get to the airport on time.  If the airlines say to arrive 90 minutes early, don't arrive 60 minutes early.  We were rushed, but made it on the airplane with a few minutes to spare.
We arrived in Tampa and rented a car so we would have a ride to Winter-Haven.
It was extremely hot there and was grateful for air conditioning.
The next day we spent a few hours house cleaning and by noon we were headed north.

We spent an evening in Macon, Georgia and drove by some huge beautiful homes on some back streets.
It was nice to take our time going home.

We also ran into some barn quilts in Kentucky.  Dean knew right away that we just had to stop and take some pictures.

It was a brief trip, but worth all the smiles when we arrived home with personal memories and treasures for two special people that have done so much for Dean and I.

Hope the barn quilts inspire you to want to make your own.
I am planning on putting one on our barn in the near future!

Happy Quilting!

WE have a vacation home in Ky and I just love those barn quilts. There are a few near our home. If we had a barn there, I would have one of those but we only have 6 acres and no barn.

Good that you were able to help out the in-laws. Im sure they appreciated all the work and drive.
