A Special Lady's Tea

My mom and I were invited to a Lady's Tea at a local church several weeks ago to show our quilts.  I think our family could put on a quilt show all by ourselves!  Mom and I each separately gathered quilts for the event.  As I was gathering quilts, I kept on adding one more quilt to the pile.  We must both think alike because she told me that she did the same thing.  My car trunk was completely full and also my back seat. We had a wonderful afternoon sharing our quilts, our memories, and a special message.
The special message was service to others no matter what your talent is!
When I was talking, there were some little girls listening so intently.  I told them that even coloring a picture for a friend that's down is something that they can even do!  I hope that all the ladies and little girls always remember that message.  The older I get, the more joy I have sharing my gift of quilting and helping others.

Sorry I don't have a picture of my Mom and me at the Lady's Tea, but that's okay.
Sometimes in life--your heart takes a picture and it's there forever.
I want to thank you Mom for sharing a wonderful afternoon with a special group of ladies.

Happy Quilting

Kay, what a lovely afternoon you and your mother shared with the other ladies and children. I agree, it's important to think of others so it's a good lesson you taught those two little girls. I wish I could have been there to see the quilts you and your mom brought. I love looking at quilts, thinking of the hard work put into them!
